27th Annual Souris Christmas Parade and Festival of Events

Parade Day December 1, 1:30 p.m.
Thursday, November 22 to Sunday, December 2

Come out and support your 27th annual Souris Christmas Parade. Everyone is welcome to put in a float, walk with your dog, even dress up like a clown, the more people we have the better it will be.

Our theme this  year is going to be based on Christmas music.  you can pick any Christmas song you like and build your float around that song. We want as much music in our parade this year as we can possible get. So strap the speakers to your float, car, truck or even your shoulders and lets sing along.

Events to look forward to:

Here is a list of some of the events that will be taking place during our Christmas week of events.

  • Nov 22 Christmas Shopping Party 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.-your chance to win a fabulous prize. Location: all local businesses

  • Nov 23 Pre-School story and crafts 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.-Canadian Children's Author Diane Swanson to read stories to the children. Location: Souris Library

  • Nov 23 Christmas Adult Trivia and Karaoke 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.-Bluefin/Blackrafter to host this wonderful night of fun.

  • Nov 23 The 28th Annual Souris Christmas Craft Fair fri 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., sat 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., sun 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.- come out and see the beautiful display of Christmas Crafts. Location: the Matthew and McLean building.

  • Nov 24 Santa Pageant and Dance with Phase II 8p.m. to 2 a.m.-come out and enjoy the laughter and fun. Location: Eastern Kings Sportsplex

  • Nov 25 Silver Threads Bakery Bingo1 p.m to 4 p.m- come and enjoy some good old fashion baking. Location: Silver Threads Club

  • Nov 25 Family Skate and Cosmic Bowling 1 p.m to 2 p.m -great fun for the whole family. Location: Eastern Kings Sportsplex

  • Nov 26 Pictures with Santa 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.- Main street mall, photo's by Kay Rose 5x7  $7.00

  • Nov 27 Tree Lighting Ceremony 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.-Town Gazebo with treats to follow.

  • Nov 27 Children's Craft Night 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.-T-shirt, crafts and Cookie creations. Location: St. Mary's Hall

  • Nov 28 Silver Threads Ceilidh 8 p.m.-always a grand old time. Location: Silver Threads Club

  • Nov 30 Souris Parade Craft Market and Bake Sale 4 p.m. to 9 p.m Dec 1, 9 a.m to 5 p.m.-call to register now all proceeds to a Christmas Charity 687-2157 ext 0 Location: Main Street Mall.

  • Dec 1 Turkey Trot 12 p.m. registration -Souris Consolidated School join the fun and bring your camera

  • Dec 1 SOURIS CHRISTMAS PARADE 1:30 p.m. start time-the one and only. All participants taking part in the parade please be at the Souris High School by 12:00 noon.

  • Dec 1 Duncan's Auction 3:30 p.m.-great gift ideas Location: St Mary's Hall

  • Dec 1 Sportsplex Elimination Draw 7 p.m. -don't forget to purchase your ticket Location: Eastern Kings Sportsplex
