Souris Canada Day Celebration

The Town of Souris is hosting there annual Canada Day Celebration on Sunday July 1, 2007 at the Connolly Park.  Some of the events that will be taking place are:

  • Opening Remarks for Mayor Joanne Reid

  • Flag Raising and Cake Cutting

  • Lions Club Family BBQ

  • Live Outdoor Entertainment

  • Silver Threads Annual Bakery Bingo

  • Children's Games and Entertainment

  • Fireworks

  • 2007 Volunteer Recognition Award

The Celebration is scheduled to begin at 12:00 noon - 5:00pm, with the Fireworks to begin at dusk.

The 2007 Volunteer Recognition Awards will also be held on July 1, 2007.  Please send your nominees request to Town of Souris, 75 Main Street, PO Box 628, Souris PEI, C0A 2B0 or drop it off in person to the Town Hall.

Eligibility Criteria:
Any Resident of Eastern Kings is eligible for nomination. We are looking for people who represent caring and sharing-unselfish service to their community or society in general. The services need not be confined to a single year, but should be recent enough to have current significance.

To nominate someone for one of these awards, all you need to do is write a letter, no forms to fill out. Be sure to give specific examples of the nominee's good deeds and details are important. The selection committee will rely on the information provided in your Nomination letter. Be as detailed as possible and be sure to state for which category you are making the nomination.
